Police seek suspect in June sex assault

Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a man wanted for questioning in a sexual assault investigation regarding a June 15 incident on Banyan Drive in Hilo.

The victim, an adult woman, described the suspect as a man in his 30s, about 5-foot-10 inches, 160 pounds with a medium complexion, thin build, short curly black hair and a short beard. He was wearing a dark shirt or sweatshirt that read “Malcolm Harriet Martin Maya &Frederck” in white block lettering in the front.

Anyone with the man’s identity or whereabouts is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
