Portion of Ka‘apuni Road is closed

KAPAA — The public is advised of intermittent road closures on the northern portion of Ka‘apuni Road in Kapaa between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., weekdays except holidays, now through August 23, weather permitting.

The closures are necessary in order to continue water system improvements for the Kapaa Homesteads Well No. 4 project. Motorists are advised to expect delays, use alternate routes or avoid the area during the scheduled working hours if possible, according to a county press release.

The intermittent road closures are necessary for the safety of the working crew, neighboring residents and motorists, and is required in order to allow contractor Earthworks Pacific Inc. to perform work on the drain line installation along the road.

Intermittent partial road closures will be in place on Ka‘apuni Road, beginning south of the intersection of Alapaki Road, near Ka‘apuni Nursery, and will continue north as work progresses towards the intersection of Ka‘apuni and Kawaihau roads.
