PO‘IPU — Michael Littman said that, prior to the opening of Hapa Ramen, there were no ramen shops on Kaua‘i’s South Shore.
Alexander &Baldwin announced the grand opening of Hapa Ramen Kaua‘i at The Shops at Kuku‘iula, with special events taking place from Wednesday through Saturday, Feb. 22 to 25, at the new restaurant’s upstairs location near The Shops’ Palm Court.
“The Shops at Kukui‘ula is excited to welcome Hapa Ramen Kaua‘i to our impressive roster of retailers and restaurants,” said Stacie Chiba-Miguel, regional manager for Alexander &Baldwin.
“Hapa Ramen Kaua‘i adds a delicious culinary option for guests looking for a quick bite while shopping, happy hour with friends, or a dining experience with the entire family.”
Hapa Ramen Kaua‘i specializes in ramen made with local meats and produce, as well as other island specialties. The ramen eatery also will feature a large selection of bourbon, Japanese whiskey, sake, and craft cocktails featuring Koloa Rum.
The grand opening celebration starts on Feb. 22 with a sake celebration with SakeOne Oregon.
On Feb. 23, Hapa Ramen Kaua‘i celebrates rum with the Koloa Rum Company, and on Feb. 24, whiskey and whiskey celebrations take the spotlight, with kama‘aina specials (kama‘aina must show a valid Hawai‘i ID to be eligible for the kama‘aina specials).
Hapa Ramen Kaua‘i hosts a VIP Room Open House on Feb. 25.
Hapa Ramen Kaua‘i is the second location for owners Michael Littman and Chef Sarah Littman, who first started their culinary journey with Hapa PDX, a then-ramen cart in Portland, Oregon.
“We are thrilled and humbled to continue our journey with Hapa Ramen Kaua‘i at The Shops at Kukui‘ula,” said Michael Littman. “We look forward to sharing our wonderful ramen and unique selection of spirits and cocktails with our guests.”
