WAIMEA — The County of Kaua‘i Department of Public Works Wastewater Management Division invites the public to a virtual public meeting to update the Waimea community on the Waimea R-1 Recycled Water Project, Thursday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m.
Anyone interested in attending the meeting should visit the county website for more information, kauai.gov.
The project includes construction of a new storage and distribution system to allow the Waimea Athletic Field to be irrigated using recycled water and conserve potable water.
The meeting will including discussion pf other places in Hawai‘i using recycled water and the safety measures to be implemented to properly use recycled water according to the state Department of Health Wastewater Branch’s reuse guidelines.
