LIHU‘E — The second phase of a repaving project at Lihu‘e Airport is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 24, the state Department of Transportation Airports Division said in a statement.
The upcoming work on the Lihu‘e Airport Public Parking Lot Repaving project will include milling and new asphalt, as well as striping work on the remainder of the main public parking lot.
The work will take approximately three weeks to be completed, with an end target date of Saturday, Nov. 12, weather permitting. As a result, there will be fewer public parking spaces available during the three-week period.
“During this timeframe, the public is strongly encouraged to consider having a family friend, or taxi/Uber/Lyft drop you off/pickup when possible,” the department said in a statement on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Barricades, signage and yellow caution tape will be posted around the perimeter of the upcoming phase of work. Additionally, any motorists who attempt to park illegally within a posted and barricaded area may be towed at their expense.
