Roadwork planned this week, beyond

PRINCEVILLE — The state Department of Transportation announced a right-lane closure of Kuhio Highway in the northbound direction between mile markers 3.4 and 3.7, Kumu Road and Waipa Stream, Monday through Thursday, June 6 to 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail clearing and tree trimming.

Kapa‘a

• A single-lane closure of Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 9.8 and 10.8 in the vicinity of Kapoli Street and Mailihuna Road, today through Friday, June 10, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., for pavement reconstruction and resurfacing;

Wailua

• A right-shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway will occur in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and the Kapa‘a bypass road, from Monday through Friday, June 6 to 10, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements;

• A single-lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road is possible in either direction between mile markers 0.0 and 2.8, Kuhio Highway and Kamalu Road, Monday through Thursday, June 6 to 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repair.

Hanama‘ulu

• The county Department of Public Works and Goodfellow Bros. LLC announced that sections of ‘Akuli Street and Hanamaʻulu Road will be under short lane closures from Monday, June 6 to Friday, June 17, weekdays except Friday, June 10, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for improvements to pedestrian access to King Kaumuali‘i Elementary School, including new sidewalks, crosswalks and ADA ramps. Lihu‘e

• A right lane closure of Kuhio Highway will occur in the northbound direction near mile marker 0.5, Ehiku Street, on Monday, June 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., for Hawaiian Telcom maintenance work.

Koloa

• The DPW Roads Division announced one-lane closures for certain locations from Monday, June 6 to Thursday, June 16, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for shoulder-maintenance, grass-cutting and tree-trimming work, on the following dates at the following locations: Koloa Road between Po‘ipu Road to Ala Kalanikaumaka, from Monday to Thursday, June 6 to 9; and Maluhia Road between Waila‘au Road and Koloa Road, from Monday to Thursday, June 13 to 16;

• The DPW and Pacific Concrete Cutting and Coring Inc., announced that portions of Pa‘anau Road will be closed Monday, June 6 to Thursday, June 30, on weekdays excluding Friday, June 10, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for improvements to pedestrian access to Koloa School, including new sidewalks, crosswalks and ADA ramps. Lawa‘i

• The DPW and Goodfellow Bros. LLC annoucned a scheduled closure at the turn lane off Koloa Road onto Kaumuali’i Highway Monday to Thursday, June 6 to 9, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., to perform underground utility improvements. Kalaheo

• The DPW and its contractor Maui Kupuno Builders announced that portions of Papalina Road in Kalaheo, from Waha Road to Kaumuali‘i Highway, will be closed Wedneday, June 8 to Thursday, June 23, weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for road-resurfacing work.
