Roadwork planned this week

WAINIHA — The state Department of Transportation announced a possible right-lane closure on Kuhio Highway in either direction between mile markers 5 and 7 around Lumaha‘i Beach and Wainiha Powerhouse Road today to Friday, July 11 to 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repair.

Hanalei

• A right-lane closure is possible on Kuhio Highway in either direction between mile markers 3.4 and 3.9, Kumu Road and Waipa Stream, today through Friday, July 11 to 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree trimming and grass cutting;

Princeville

• A right-lane closure on Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 24 and 28, Kalihiwai Road and Ka Haku Road, today through Friday, July 11 to 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repair;

Kapa‘a

• The county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC announced that portions of Kawaihau Road will be closed from today through Friday, July 11 to 15 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additionally, the intersection of Mailihuna Road, Hau‘a‘ala Road and Kawaihau Road will experience temporary traffic shifts. Wailua

• A two-lane closure of Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 5.6 and 6.7, Leho Drive and the Kapa‘a bypass road this evening, July 11 through the morning of Friday, July 15, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for road widening;

• A right-lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road is possible in either direction between mile markers 0.2 and 1, ‘Ohana Street and Kuamo‘o Road, today through Friday, July 11 to 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree trimming and grass cutting;

• The mauka Wailua River bridge on Kuhio Highway will close for night work starting today. The DOT is doing geotechnical drilling work on a nightly basis starting today, scheduled between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. During working hours, all traffic will be routed to the makai bridge. The estimated completion date is Friday, July 22.
