Roadwork to start in Kalaheo

KALAHEO — The county Department of Public Works announced that DMK and Associates will be begin roadwork in Kalaheo on weekdays from Monday, April 6 through Tuesday, April 14, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather-permitting.

The scope of the work includes asphalt crack-filling, seal-coating and striping the roadways.

• On April 6 and 7, there will be no road closures during the asphalt crack-cleaning and filling phase of work. No parking will be allowed on the road or road shoulders;

• From April 8 through 13, there will be road closures during the seal-coating phase of work. No parking will be allowed on the road or road shoulders. No vehicle access on the roadway or grassy shoulders will be allowed. No vehicles will be allowed to enter or exit until the seal coat is dry and road reopened. No walking on the wet seal coat is allowed. The work zone will be coned off to prevent anyone from driving or stepping on wet materials;

• On April 13 and April 14, there will be no road closures during the striping phase of work;

For all phases of work, exercise caution when driving to ensure the safety of everyone.

Be on the lookout for “No Parking” and/or “Road Closed” barricades and signs.

Vehicle parking will not be allowed in the work zone after 7:30 a.m. Any vehicle left on the street or grassy road shoulders within the work zones after 7:30 a.m. will be towed at the owner’s expense. Work may be extended pending weather conditions.
