LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i Senior Softball league contests at Isenberg Park were “Rained Out” following overnight rains that continued intermittently through Saturday.
Teams involved in the Rain Out include the Barteks, the Keonimana Gents, the Aloha Kia Lihu‘e A’s, Solid Steel, Kawaihau, the ‘Ohana Rebels, the Hanamaulu Hillsiders, and ‘Ohana.
Plans for rescheduling the impacted contests are pending.
Over at the Kaumakani Field, the rains did not affect play with a trio of close games emerging from the Kaumakani dust.
The Rookies rebounded from their loss the week before to hold off the Islanders, 12-9.
Da Kruzers squeezed past the East Kaua‘i Legends, 17-16, and Kuku’s Aces was a run better than West Kaua‘i.
Kaua‘i Senior Softball league games continue with contests taking place Saturday at the Wailua Field located in the Wailua Houselots, and the ‘Ele‘ele Field. First pitch goes off starting a 9 a.m. at both sites.
The Kaua‘i Senior Softball league was also approved to host the 45th Hawai‘i State Senior Softball Tournament from Aug. 3 through 5 in the Hanapepe area with a coaches’ meeting scheduled for Aug. 2.
Contests will be played at Hanapepe, Kaumakani, and ‘Ele‘ele fields.
Due to COVID-19 considerations, there will be no food booths, and no opening ceremonies. A kanikapila/luau is scheduled for Aug. 4 at “Harbor House,” situated next to the Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor in Kekaha.
