Salvation Army ARC donation event is July 30

LIHU‘E — The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center participants will be at the Kaua‘i Resource Center on Ahukini Road near Lihu‘e Airport from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 30.

Residents, businesses and others can bring in unwanted or unneeded items for reuse, including clothing, small furniture, children’s toys, books, and shoes.

Clothing and textiles do not need to be in good condition. Torn or stained clothing will be accepted. Ewaste, chemicals, appliances and broken items are not acceptd.

The county encourages the public to check with local thrift stores to see if they are capable of taking donations before bringing items to the KRC.

Due to health and safety concerns, heavy equipment in the area and to reduce the chance of injury to customers unloading heavy items, The Salvation Army requests that the public remain in their vehicles while dropping off items.

The ARC offers pick-up services to thrift stores and businesses. Call 808-241-4336 to schedule a new service. For individuals who would like home pick-up service, please contact Habitat for Humanity Restore at 808-335-6105 or RP’s Random Closet 808-346-0020.
