LIHU‘E — Paul Curtis of the Hanama‘ulu Hillsiders said they were in it for one inning before the Keonimana Gents blew away the game, 19-4 Saturday during the Kaua‘i Senior Softball league games played at Wailua Houselots Park.
Other contests at Wailua saw TKO wins like Imi‘Ola shutting down DaKruzers, 18-0. The Kaua‘i Sons were 22-9 over the EK Legends, and the Rookies, defending champions from 2021, soared past Kawaihau, 19-6.
Closer games took place at Ele‘ele Park, where the Aloha Kia A’s took the Bushwackas, 14-11, which then went on to face Solid Steel in a game previously rained out. Solid Steel was ahead 9-5 when the game was called in the bottom of the fifth.
Resumption of that contest is scheduled for Saturday when the league opens a full day of senior softball at Puhi Park, starting at 9 a.m.
The seniors also fill the Pat Baniaga Field in Hanapepe Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
