A new online landfill payment platform has been launched and can be accessed at www.kauai.gov/lfp.
The platform aims to provide a better customer experience when paying landfill bills and allows customers to either pay as a guest or as a logged-in user. Those who log in to make payments can also view their online account and online payment history. Also, the platform allows Division staff to upload billing files and retrieve payment files on demand.
Online payments include a $2.50 convenience fee plus a 2.2% credit card or $1.00 eCheck fee per transaction.
The platform was a collaborative effort, led by NIC Hawaii, working with the Department of Finance and the Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division.
Customers are encouraged to submit payments via this online service. Customers may also pay their landfill bill by mail or by dropping off a sealed envelope containing their check and remittance at the drop box located on the right-hand side of the Department of Motor Vehicles entrance at the Lihu‘e Civic Center. Please make checks payable to the Director of Finance.
