They’re back!

The popular zombies, both the younger level and the more mature level ghouls, from the Aloha Dance Studio are returning with their flash mob for Freaky Fridays throughout October, at Kukui Grove Center.

Freaky Fridays, with its keiki activities from 6 to 9 p.m. near the Keiki Korner play area, is just one part of the spooky events taking place in celebration of Halloween that falls on Oct. 31.

Hosted by the Aloha Dance Studio, a new facet is the Selfie Station. Proceeds from Freaky Fridays go toward scholarships for Aloha Dance Studio team competition.

Joining the Freaky Friday offering, Spooktacular Saturdays kick off Saturday with a comic and collectibles swap coordinated by Bubbah’s Toy Box from noon until 6 p.m. with a Superhero Movie Night capping the day at the center stage area launching at 6 p.m.

“This is going to be a lot of fun,” said Melissa McFerrin-Warrack, special events coordinator at Kukui Grove. “We will have Freaky Fridays and Spooktacular Saturdays with a Halloween-theme throughout the month.”

The Living Dead joins the Freaky Friday crew on Oct. 11 from 6:30 p.m., and again during Oct. 12 from 5:30 p.m.

During the Oct. 12 Spooktacular Saturday, Small Fry Slime Party will bring the goo to the shopping center. Registration is required for the slimey fun that follows an appearance by the Glow Show! Puppets from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A Howloween pet costume contest coordinated by the Dog Fanciers highlights the Oct. 19 Spooktacular Saturday followed by the Spooky Movie Night featuring Hotel Transylvania.

All the stops come out Oct. 26 when the shopping center hosts its Halloween Festival from 10 a.m. to noon at the center stage area.

It will include free costume contests and a “Howl and Scream” contest.

Night falls when Bandwagon presents Monsters of Rock from 5 to 7 p.m. that coincides with the Tri-High Teen Halloween Party.

The month closes on Halloween with a Trunk or Treat event presented by the Resilience Project.
