Statewide Tree Planting Day October 30

HONOLULU — Governor David Ige proclaimed Oct. 30 as Statewide Tree Planting Day in Hawai‘i, and asks residents to join him in recognizing the value of trees and plants in combating climate change.

The governor’s announcement comes on the heels of independent proclamations by Kaua‘i Mayor Derek Kawakami, Maui Mayor Mike Victorino and the Maui County Council making Oct. 30 Countywide Tree Planting Days on Kaua‘i and Maui.

The statewide tree planting event is organized by La Ho‘olu Pae Moku / ReTree Hawai‘i.
