The Mokihana Club opens voice and music scholarships

LIHU‘E — The Mokihana Club is inviting talented high school seniors in both private and public schools to apply for its scholarships, which are based on merit and financial need. 

To be eligible, applicants must have resided on Kaua‘i for four months prior to the April music scholarship competition, which will take place at The Mokihana Club’s meeting on April 3.

Student applicants who are recommended by a music teacher or school personnel perform at the competition as part of qualifying for the scholarship.

A graduating high school senior, who is a student of voice or instrument, and planning to attend an accredited college, university, vocational school, or continue to study with a qualified music teacher, is eligible for consideration.

Application and recommendation forms are available online at All completed application forms, and recommendation forms must be submitted by email to by March 22.

Over the years, The Mokihana Club has awarded more than $68,000 to talented qualifying high school seniors from both private and public schools.
