KAPA‘A — A vehicle fire on the eastside of the island caused estimated $4,000 in damage on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
Tender 1, and the on-duty battalion chief responded to the incident along with personnel with the Kapa‘a and Kaiakea fire stations were dispatched after a 911 call of a vehicle fire on Kahuna Road came in shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
“According to the preliminary report, upon arrival at approximately 3:45 p.m., firefighters discovered an old bucket truck on fire, along with debris near the truck on fire,” the Kaua‘i Fire Department said.
Firefighters successfully controlled and extinguished the fire, clearing the scene shortly before 5 p.m.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
