Visitor airlifted from Queen’s Bath on Friday

PRINCEVILLE — Firefighters airlifted an injured 57-year-old Florida man from Queen’s Bath in Princeville Friday afternoon.

First responders were notified around 4:30 p.m. of a man who reportedly fell and injured his ankle. Princeville firefighters arrived on scene and hiked to the man’s location, where they found him sitting on the rocks near the water. They splinted his ankle while Kaua‘i Fire Department rescue specialists aboard the emergency helicopter were dispatched.

Once on scene, rescuers airlifted the man to a nearby landing zone where awaiting American Medical Response medics provided additional support and treatment.

The access gate to Queen’s Bath has been closed to the public since October 2021 for the high surf winter season. The gate remains closed until further notice.
