HANAPEPE — The county Department of Water announced an overnight water-service shutdown on Hana Road in Hanapepe from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2 to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, weather-permitting, in order to perform waterline-installation and improvements work.

A partial closure on Hanapepe Road, near the intersection of Hana Road, including the mauka bridge over the Hanapepe River, will be closed during the work.

Additionally, that same bridge will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday except holidays, through April 30, weather-permitting. Access will continue to be available to pedestrians and bicyclists.

Intermittent bridge closures are necessary in order to allow contractor Goodfellow Bros. to continue with planned waterline-installation and improvements work, as part of the Hanapepe-‘Ele‘ele Water Systems Improvements Project.
