Islanders squeak past Kawaihau in senior softball

LIHU‘E — Bats were swinging — and connecting, Saturday when the Kaua‘i Senior Softball saw five winning teams emerging with 10=-run ruling victories led by the Rookies who keeps its unblemished record clean with a 17-3 win over the Aloha Kia Lihu‘e A’s at the Kaumakani field.

The Keonimana Gents kept its bats swinging, taking a 14-3 win over the ‘Ohana Rebels in the second 10-run ruling win at Kaumakani, and the Islanders were two runs better than Kawaihauy in the only squeaker on the day.

Games continue Saturday at the ‘Ele‘ele and Wailua fields with the ‘Ohana, finishing strong over West Kaua‘i last week, opens against the Kuku’s Aces who was shut down by Da Kruzers.

First pitch at both fields go off starting at 9 a.m.
