Voice opinions about force reduction at Kaua‘i District Tax Office

This letter is to inform the residents of Kaua‘i that the Department of Taxation for the state of Hawai‘i has proposed a reorganization and reduction in force for the Kaua‘i District Tax Office as part of the solution to the budget cuts required for the state.

The proposal will eliminate the Office Audit and Field Audit sections and downsize the Collections section and Taxpayer Services sections, leaving a total of four employees to service you as residents. All communication with the eliminated sections will be directed to the O‘ahu District Office.

The employees of the Kaua‘i District Office are asking for the community’s support in voicing your opinions and concerns with Gov. David Ige, Sen. Ron Kouchi, and our district Reps., James Tokioka, Nadine Nakamura and Dee Morikawa, and state Director of Taxation Isaac Choy.

The employees of the Kaua‘i District Office would like to continue to serve the community of Kaua‘i, and we sincerely appreciate your support in this matter.

Thank you.
