Safe Travels works

I felt proud of Hawai’i when it instituted the Safe Travels online screening process for travelers at the beginning of the month.

My wife and I were in California for essential family business, so we completed the forms as required before we returned.

Things worked efficiently when we landed in Honolulu, but we were dismayed to find that the Lihue airport is not yet connected to the system.

Although there were only a few dozen travelers, we had to stand in line for an hour while paper forms were processed. Others in the line were kupuna leaning on canes, who really shouldn’t have had to stand that long.

I’m disappointed that Kaua’i can’t “get with the program,” and hope this gets corrected ASAP.
