Plan to reduce ambulance service on Kaua‘i ‘foolish’

With the state budget heading for a colossal shortfall when the next fiscal year begins on July 1, there has been a proposal to reduce the ambulance services on Kaua‘i. Our island is currently served by only six ambulances as it is.

To reduce the number, according to the proposal floated by someone obviously not from Kaua‘i, by one or two units, is unacceptable. Cutting first responders is the last place to try to save money. If you oppose these foolish reductions in service, contact our Kaua‘i legislative contingent.
