Lawa‘i is not a landfill
We live in Kalaheo, and have for 23 years, Lawa‘i post office, 7-Eleven, and Lawa‘i Kaua‘i County recycling locations we frequent on a daily basis. We take our recycling for obvious reasons. Any effort can help this county, state and earth.
But please explain why people continue to treat this area like their personal dump site? If I go there and the recycling receptacles are full, I go home and try another day. Other people choose to just offload it and pile it next to the receptacles, or by the dumpsters that are private property. Do these people expect the hardworking county workers, 7-Eleven, post office to take care of it? Do these people have no respect for any of these people? The Hanapepe Transfer Station is 12 minutes away. Take a drive and respect this location.
Basically, we find it a total disrespect for these locations and Kaua‘i. I’ve personally called out people doing this, and received stupid, ignorant replies. Downright lazy. If you want to coexist and live in paradise, do us all a favor and treat and respect paradise. Otherwise? I’m sure there are other places you can treat like a dump site.
Just saying.
