Sakiko Miyashiro

Sakiko Miyashiro passed away on March 10, 2021, at the age of 91, in Kapa’a. She was born on July 6, 1929, in Wailua Homesteads.

Sakiko was preceded in death by her parents Teiji and Yoshiko Miyashiro, siblings Kiyoto Miyashiro and Michiko Brace.

Sakiko is survived by her brother Jack Miyashiro, her sister Marion Harris, numerous nieces and nephews.

Eduardo C. Pagaduan

Eduardo C. Pagaduan passed away on March 15, 2021, at the age of 98, in Kekaha. He was born on April 5, 1922, in the Philippines. He was a sugar plantation worker.

Eduardo was preceded in death by his wife Grace M. Pagaduan, brother Ponciano Pagaduan.

Eduardo is survived by his son Edward Pagaduan of Kekaha, daughter Blossom M. Eugenio (Pedro S., Jr. aka Buddy) of Torrance, California and 2 grandchildren.

Walk through visitation at Garden Island Mortuary on Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 10 to 11 a.m. Service to follow. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and a mask is required.

Teodocia Gallego Ortal

Teodocia Gallego Ortal, 85, of Kapa‘a, passed away at her home on March 16, 2021. She was born March 23, 1935 in Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines and was a dedicated homemaker.

Teodocia was preceded in death by her husband Ciriaco Ortal, parents Juan and Ambrocia Gallego and brother, Roxas Gallego.

Teodocia is survived by her children Lilia (Peter) Nonales, Henry (Norma) Ortal, Efren (Josie) Ortal, Romeo Ortal, Edgar (Evelyn) Ortal, Noel (Evelyn) Ortal, Juliet (Billy) Pascual, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021, with viewing at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Kilauea Japanese Cemetery at noon.

Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Virgilio Bacsa Cacal

Virgilio Bacsa Cacal passed away on April 8, 2021, in Waimea, at the age of 74. He was born on March 27, 1947, in Paniqui, Tarlac Philippines. He worked for Kekaha Sugar Company.

Virgilio was preceded in death by his parents Domingo Cadiente Cacal and Francisca Bacsa Cacal.

Virgilio is survived by his wife Fely Cacal, son Virgilio Cacal, Jr., daughters Marites Cacal Stevens, Mariza Delos Reyes, 6 grandchildren and sister Vincenta Cacal Martinez.

A walk through visitation will take place at Garden Island Mortuary on Friday, April 16, 2021, from 9: to 11 a.m. There will be a Celebration of Life to follow. Casual attire and flowers welcome. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and a mask are required.

Sinamar Amagna Barit

Sinamar Amagna Barit, 85, of Lihu‘e, passed away on April 5, 2021, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. She was born in Zambales, Philippines on March 18, 1936. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Sinamar was preceded in death by her son Boyette Amagna.

Sinamar is survived by her daughters Candy (Doug) Kleven, Cristina Cristobal and 3 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with services to follow at 10 a.m.

Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Reinhold ‘Ronnie’ Cremer Sr.

Reinhold “Ronnie” Cremer Sr. born on June 13, 1944, in Waimea, passed away on March 28, 2021, at his home in Lihu‘e at the age of 76.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife Daphne K. Cremer, son Richard K. Cremer, grandson Christopher Cremer, sisters Lorraine Medeiros, Jeanette Tu and brother Robert Cremer Sr.

Ronnie is survived by his daughters Doreen (Glenn) Gomes of Lihu‘e, Kanani (Kela) Kawamura of Anahola, sons David (Denise) Cremer of Puhi, Reinhold (Elmer) Cremer Jr. of Maui, Shawn Cremer of O‘ahu, sisters Marian Lizama of Kapa‘a, Elizabeth Owen of Texas, Loretta Johnson of Texas, Berna Reynolds of Texas, brothers Edward Cremer of Puhi, Eric Cremer of Lihu‘e, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Sunday April 25, 2021, at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i with visiting from 2 to 2:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow.

Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mark Funamura

Beloved son, Mark, June 15, 1963 – April 2, 2021, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.

Mark was predeceased by mother Barbara, brothers Stanley and Chip.

Mark is survived by his father Dan, sister Joni Funamura-Sasil and niece, Justice Funamura-Sasil.

A private service will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden.
