Reynalda Evangelista Ramos
Reynalda Evangelista Ramos of Lihu‘e passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Jan. 17, 2021, at the age of 71. She was born in Orani, Bataan, Philippines, on April 23, 1949. She worked at Wilcox Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s assistant.
She was preceded in death by husband Samuel Ramos, daughters Michelle and Leilani Ramos, and parents Crispin Evangelista and Anicia Cruz.
She is survived by son Samuel “Jun” (Kanani) Ramos Jr., grandchildren Alyssa Lardizabal, Xandra Ramos-Masumoto, Alexis Ramos, Pua‘ala, Lei‘ala and Kapono Akui-Ramos, in-laws Reynaldo (Marjorie) Ramos, German (Mila) Ramos, Crescencio “Cres” (Becky) Ramos, Jerry (Emily) Ramos and Gladdy (Angel) Palaroan, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Immaculate Conception Church. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. with Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Burial of her ashes will follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dianna Ka‘alolani Yuk Lan Kaulili Phillips
Dianna Ka‘alolani Yuk Lan Kaulili Phillips of Lawa‘i passed away at home on Jan. 1, 2021, at the age of 68. She was born Sept. 14, 1952, in Lihu‘e, and was a retired social worker, having worked most recently for the state of Hawai‘i.
She was preceded in death by parents Springwater O. Kaulili and Marjorie Mew Lan (Seto) Kaulili.
She is survived by husband Kelley Phillips, daughter Sara of Seattle, son Andrew (Ha‘eha‘e) of Kula, Maui, grandchildren Ethan ‘Akahi, Riley ‘Aukai, Eli Nape, Eliyanah Tita and Micah Lamaku, brother Springwater (Verna) Kaulili, sisters Donna (Henry) Kupahu, Doreen Kaulili, Dannette (Kevin) Takahashi and Debby Kaulili, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A COVID-19-safe visitation and service is Thursday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary chapel in Koloa. A safe, outdoor celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at Prince Kuhio Park at Ho‘ai.
Mildred ‘Millie’ Nunes Orsatelli
Mildred “Millie” Nunes Orsatelli passed away on Dec. 27, 2020, at the age of 91. She was born in Pakala on Dec. 25, 1929. She was employed by Medeiros Farms in Kalaheo.
She was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Octavio Orsatelli, husband Stanley Orsatelli Sr., brothers Robert and Timothy Nunes, daughter Valerie Camara and son Jeffery Orsatelli.
She is survived by daughter, Deborah (Clifford) Pimental, sons Robert (Cheryle) Orsatelli, Stanley Orsatelli and David Orsatelli, son-in-law Wayne Camara and daughter-in-law Bridgette Orsatelli, sisters Shirley Martin and Loretta Grace, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her celebration of life will be private.

Patsy Katsuno Kuwata
Patsy Katsuno Kuwata, daughter of Haruo and Kiyoko Akiyama, passed away in Torrance, California, at the age of 87. She was born on April 14, 1933, in ‘Ele‘ele. She grew up in Hanapepe, then left for Los Angeles to find work. In Los Angeles, she married Frank Kuwata. They had two sons, Dean and Kevin.
After her sons grew up, she went back to work as an executive secretary for Hughes Aircraft. She worked until after her husband retired. She enjoyed cooking, and baking cakes and pies for special occasions, sewing, crafts, gardening, tai chi chuan and ceramics. Anyone who knew her could attest to the fact that she excelled at all of these. She also enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas and Hawai‘i with her husband.
Patsy and Frank Kuwata were devout members of the congregation at the Gardena Valley Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by father Haruo Akiyama and mother Kiyoko, husband Frank Kuwata, eldest son Dean Kuwata and sister June Shishido.
She is survived by brother James Akiyama, sisters Carol Akiyama and Amy Sagawa, youngest son Kevin Kuwata and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be interred with her husband at the Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family was assisted by Los Angeles Cremation in Redondo Beach.
