Abelardo Ragasa Iloreta

Abelardo Ragasa Iloreta, 67, of Kapa‘a, passed away at home on March 2, 2020. He was born in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, on March 9, 1952 and retired from R. Electric and County of Kauai as an electrician and electrical inspector.

He is survived by wife Amelia Iloreta, daughter Abigail (Dustin Julian) Iloreta, parents Felix and Josefina Iloreta, siblings Arsenio (Daisy) Iloreta, Tony (Linda) Iloreta, Edna (Glenn) Douglas, Joselito (Leto) Iloreta, Jimmy (Emma) Iloreta, George (Josie) Iloreta and Edison (Jayne Brown) Iloreta, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life is Saturday, March 28, at St. Catherine Church in Kapa‘a. Friends may drop off condolence cards at the reception table between 8:30 and 10 a.m. Mass will be celebrated with family only at 10 a.m. Private burial will be at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens for family only.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Anthony Nuivo

Anthony Nuivo, 86, of California, formerly of Kaua‘i, passed away on Feb. 12, 2020. He was born in Lihu‘e on Feb. 15, 1933, and retired from Wilcox Memorial Hospital.

He was preceded in death by wife Ruby “Terry” Nuivo, parents Benito and Eugenia Nuivo, brothers Francisco Nuivo, Marcario Nuivo and Paustino Nuivo, and sister Natividad Nuivo Arato.

He is survived by daughter Mary (Hykeem) Jordan of California, son Anthony Lee “Tony” Nuivo of Lihu‘e, granddaughters Victoria Fung of California and Scarlett Nuivo of Lihu‘e, sister Soledad Nuivo Cui of Florida, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of his life has been postponed until further notice.

Alta Vista Cremation and Funeral Service of Suisun City, California, and Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home are assisting the family with arrangements.
