Lucia Semana Ceballos

Lucia Semana Ceballos, 98, of Kalaheo, passed away on Aug. 25, 2023. She was born in Lihu‘e on Feb. 9, 1925, and retired from the County of Kaua‘i.

She was preceded in death by husband Francisco Ceballos Sr., sons Francisco Ceballos Jr., Donald Ceballos, Glenn Ceballos, grandson Donnie Ceballos, brothers Nicholas Semana, Suelo Semana and sister Felisa Samio.

Lucia is survived by son Errol (RoseTatiana) Ceballos, daughters-in-law Sandy Ceballos, Mai Ceballos, Mona Ceballos, five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life is Saturday, Sept. 23, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., with services to follow at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home at a later date.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ikaika Konala Camillo Christian Tangonan

Ikaika Konala Camillo Christian Tangonan, 35, passed away on Sept. 10, 2023. He was born in Lihu‘e on Jan. 17, 1988, and was studying to become a lawyer.

He was preceded in passing by grandfather Camillo Tangonan.

Ikaika is survived by father Fred Tangonan, mother Pandora Christian, sisters Brandy (Robert Wills) Mae Dias-Christian, Tristell (Marc) Calderon, Kristell Ka‘auwai, grandmothers Vernie Christian, Noemi Tangonan, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be announced in the future.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Leona Keonaonakapuakea ‘Balino’ Manguchei

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beautiful Leona Keonaonakapuakea ‘Balino’ Manguchei, 44, of Wailua, on Aug. 18, 2023. She was born in Honolulu on May 27, 1979, and lived her life here on Kaua‘i. She was known to everyone by her beautiful smile and loving spirit. Forever she will be in our hearts.

She was preceded in passing by husband Erick Manguchei and father Lee Balino.

Leona is survived by mother Jaime Rankin, siblings James Balino, Bronson Balino, Cheyenne Balino, daughters Jordyn-Leigh Balino, Jadyn-Minnie Nakaahiki, Edyn-Raquel Nakaahiki, Eryn-Mei Nakaahiki, Shannyn-Isabella Nakaahiki, Reyn-Lovea Nakaahiki, Sofia-Marie Manguchei, three grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life is Saturday, Sept. 16, at Salt Pond Beach Park starting at 12 p.m.

Cyrus James Kekoa Kanoho

Cyrus James Kekoa Kanoho passed away on Aug. 17, 2023, in Warrenton, Oregon. He was born on April 13, 1999, in Lihu‘e, Hawai‘i. Cyrus lived most of his life in Oregon, but was proud of his Kaua‘i roots. He made such a huge impact on everyone he met. Always putting the needs of others before his own. Everyone who knows him always talked about his beautiful smile and infectious laugh.

Cyrus is survived by his parents Venus (Steve Beeman) Kanoho of Anahola, Burl (Lisa Grimes) Kanoho of Seaside, Oregon. He also leaves behind his siblings Chynoa and Anela Kanoho of Hawai‘i, Keao (Jack Larson) Kanoho, Ashley-Rose (Tim Ueland) Kanoho-Ueland of Oregon, nephew Zander and nieces Karli-Rose, Phoenix and Lorriann all of Oregon. His grandmother Barbara Soto of Kapa‘a, aunts Debra Bonilla of Anahola, Becky (Lance) Horka of Puhi, uncles Rawlin (Cheri) Kanoho of Salem Oregon, Charles Soto of Honolulu, Henry Kanoho Jr of Anahola, numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Robynne Kanoho and grandfathers Charles Soto and Henry Kanoho.

Cyrus’s celebration of life was held in Oregon, with another one being planned for Kaua‘i. The family would like to share a website made especially for Cyrus. http://flyinhawaiian.cafe
