Bettie Alice McNeil
Bettie Alice McNeil passed away on May 17, 2019. She was born on Oct. 7, 1925, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a nurses’ aide.
She was preceded in death by father Hermon Mandrell and mother Cappie Mandrell.
She is survived by sons Michael McNeil, Jock McNeil and Barry McNeil, all of Louisville, Kentucky, daughters Connie Booker and Charlene Flowers of Louisville, Kentucky, and Patricia Huber of Kekaha, six grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Private services were held.
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
David Koerte Jr.
David Koerte Jr. passed away in Lihue on June 6, 2019, at the age of 82. He was born on Sept. 20, 1936, in Lihue. He was a retired supervisor electrician for Lihue Plantation Company.
He was preceded in death by father David Koerte Sr., mother Conception Medina, sister Jeanette Koerte and brother-in-law Louis Pontes.
He is survived by wife Marlow Koerte of Kapaa, sons David Koerte III of Las Vegas, Michael (Lu) Koerte of Kekaha, Davin (Blazey) Koerte of Kapaa, stepdaughter Tina Silva, seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and sisters Rose (Jose) Castillo of El Paso, Texas, and Eleanor Pontes of Kalaheo.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, at Lihue First Church (behind King Auto Center), with viewing from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and a celebration of life from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Inurnment will follow at Hanapepe Kauai Veterans Cemetery from 2:30 to 3 p.m., followed by lunch at the Hanapepe tennis courts pavilion.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Edith Huerto Villanueva
Edith Huerto Villanueva of Lihue passed away on June 1, 2019, at Garden Island Healthcare in Lihue.
She was born in the Philippines on Sept. 7, 1939, and was an assistant manager in the men’s department at Gem store in Lihue.
She was preceded in death by mother Lourdes Huerto, father Antonio Huerto, and husband John Villanueva.
She is survived by sons Donald (Josie) Villanueva, Dody (Carol) Villanueva and Dandy ( Marie) Villanueva, daughters Marilou (Gary) Campbell, Maribeth Maricaban and Maritess (Rene) Lopez, brothers Leodigario (Ofring) Huerto and Oscar Huerto, sister Vilma Huerto, 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be celebrated in the Philippines at a later date.

Doris (Dolores) M. McKenna
Doris (Dolores) M. McKenna passed away on June 1, 2019, at the age of 94.
She was born on March 6, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by sons Patrick (Diane) McKenna of Arroyo Granda, California, Timothy (Cathy) McKenna of Kekaha and Dennis McKenna of Nipomo, California, daughters Peggy (Gary) Yatsuoka of Waimea, Sheila (Alfred) Ringor of Puhi, hanai daughter Cindy Foresee of Shell Beach, California, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waimea, with visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire.
