Myrna Louise (Hussey) Chun
Our beloved mother of the Chun ‘ohana passed away June 12, 2020, on Kaua‘i. Born to parents Wilfred and Louise Hussey in Hilo on July 12, 1933, she graduated from Hilo High and worked for a little while before meeting the love of her life, Henry, and starting a family in Honolulu. There she lived for the rest of her life until the last six months spent on Kaua‘i.
She was preceded in death by husband Henry Q.H. Chun, brothers Wilfred Jr. and Roy Hussey and grandson Seth Yamamoto.
She is survived by children Cindy (Aki) Sinoto, Lillis (Leonard) Yamamoto, Maury (Linda) Chun and Sean (Jaye) Chun, 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sister Abilene Lorene (Earl) Akimseu and brother Clifford (Cheryl) Hussey, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Myrna and Henry were instrumental in the establishment of the Old Vineyard Street Residents Association which, with the kokua of many friends, successfully negotiated with the state of Hawai‘i for many local residents, living in Souza Court, who would have been displaced by construction of the existing parking lot next to the state Department of Education Lili‘uokalani Building. This led to the development of the Old Vineyard Street Apartments, an affordable-housing project jointly sponsored by state and federal agencies. For over four decades, she remained working as its on-site manager, first under Chaney &Brooks Company and later under Urban Real Estate Company. Mahalo to these companies, past and current residents, charter members of the association, and the many friends who volunteered legal assistance.
Special mahalo to Dr. John Mickey, Gail and staff at Straub Hospital for their kindness and care provided to her over the years, as well as everyone at Hale Nani Rehab Facility on O‘ahu and the Garden Isle Healthcare &Rehabilitation staff for the care and comfort provided during the latter part of her stay on Kaua‘i, especially during the isolation due to the coronavirus shutdown.

Michael ‘Fergie’ Ferguson
Michael “Fergie” Ferguson, 72, of Lihu‘e, passed away on June 18, 2020, at his home. He was born in Phoenix on Oct. 20, 1947. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne who served in Vietnam. He played professional baseball with the California Angels Winter League, and retired from the Pacific National Bureau of Standards at the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands.
He was preceded in death by parents Morris and Beatrice Ferguson and brother Christopher Ferguson.
He is survived by lifelong friends Pearl Jimenez, Denis Gueret and Christiane “Michele” Ferguson of Laguna Beach, California, sister-in-law Diane “Dee” Ferguson of California, and many friends on Kaua‘i.
A burial service will be held at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe on Friday, July 24, at 1 p.m.

Patricia Lucille Victorino
Patricia Lucille Victorino, 71, of Wailua Homesteads, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on July 1, 2020. She was born in Lihu‘e on October 30, 1948, and retired as a custodian with state Department of Education.
She was preceded in death by husband Richard Victorino, parents William and Lucy Freitas and brother Anthony G. Freitas Sr.
She is survived by brothers Jerome Freitas Sr. and Steven (Lorna) Freitas, sisters Charlotte (Ronnie) Romero and Paulette (Rodney) Bristol, nephew and caretakers Travis (Mana Brown) Medina, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 24, at St. Catherine Church, with viewing from 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. (masks are required). Anyone planning to attend the services should RSVP with Steven at 652-1459 or Travis at 652-2810. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Phoebe Bell
‘Pat’ Liddle
Phoebe Bell Liddle, aka “Pat,” much beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, was born in Chicago on Oct 16, 1917, passed away peacefully at home in Kapahi on June 23, 2020, at the age of 102 years and eight months, with her son and daughter by her side.
She was a very special lady and homemaker who lived a life full of love, family and fun. She was devoted to her family and moved to Kaua‘i to be closer to them in 2003. A beautiful lady, she loved to entertain, and was a happy addition to any gathering — always ready for a good time. After being widowed she started tap-dancing and entertaining in the Conejo Valley area of California, where she lived. It was her great joy. She also was a fan of Big Band music — especially Frank Sinatra.
She was preceded in death by husband of 37 years Floyd K. Liddle, parents Richard H. Luetke Sr. and Anna Victoria (Lindquist) Luetke, brother Richard H. Luetke Jr. and great-grandson Trusten.
She is survived by son Clark Gregory and wife Susan, daughter Barbara Gail, grandson Damon “Dove,” and great-grandsons Ryemin and Reason, as well as many Canadian relatives for whom she was a very special part of their lives, and a large, loving, admiring contingent of friends who consider her family. She will be missed.
No formal services are planned.
