Eunice Midori Olivas
Eunice Midori Olivas passed away on Aug. 3, 2021, at the age of 74, in Honolulu. She was born on March 12, 1947, in Lihu‘e. She was a retired teacher of Kalaheo Elementary School.
Eunice was preceded in death by her husband Athmore Dexter Olivas and son Kyle Athmore Olivas.
Eunice is survived by her son Jon Olivas of Kalaheo, daughter Jamie Olivas (Justin Shanks) of Kapa‘a, 7 grandchildren, parents Minoru and Kiyoko Kubota, brothers Jerry (Caleen) Kubota of Kapa‘a, Allan (Nelly) Kubota of Utah, Kenneth (Cheryl) Kubota of Kapa‘a, Bobbie (Lyn) Kubota of Wailua, sisters Bernice (Roy) Hashimoto of ‘Ele‘ele, Joyce (Glen-deceased) Kaneshiro of Honolulu, O‘ahu, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at Garden Island Mortuary. Visitation from 9 to 11 a.m., with Celebration of Life to follow. The family request casual attire and no flowers. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and face masks are required.

Ivan George Brown
Ivan George Brown passed away at the age of 86, on Aug. 4, 2021. He was born in Yuba City, California on May 27, 1935. He was a journeyman electrician, alfalfa farmer and a musician.
Ivan was preceded in death by parents Ivan Wade and Virginia Helen Brown, wife Mary Lou Brown and daughter Jill Helen Rogers.
Ivan is survived by daughters Kimberly Emura and Kelly (Paul) Varelmann, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Services with the family will be private.

Debbie Lynne Sakai-Ortiz Luis
Debbie Lynne Sakai-Ortiz Luis, 60, of Suisun City, California, passed away on Aug. 20, 2021, at her mom’s home on Kaua‘i. She was born in Waimea on Dec. 13, 1960, and retired as a registered nurse with Napa State Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, DeeAnne Falls and father, William T. Sakai.
Debbie is survived by her mother Myra Linda Sakai, husband Manuel Ortiz Luis, children, Fherie Bernados, Allan Booth, Xander Robinson and Benjamin Sobrepena, sister Amy (Greg) Rita, brother William (Samantha) Sakai Jr. and numerous close relatives.
Private services were held on Kaua‘i. Services in California will be held at a later date.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Beatrice Lokelani Pila
Beatrice Lokelani Pila passed away at the age of 75, on Aug. 9, 2021. She was born in Honolulu on Feb. 24, 1946.
Beatrice was preceded in death by parents Henry and Edna Goodness, husband Victor Pila and sisters Barbara Herr, Kathy Zimmeran and Joann Kealoha.
Beatrice is survived by sons Jonathan Pila, Chad Pila and 3 grandchildren.

Laverne Mikiyo Kodama-Yokoi
Laverne Mikiyo Kodama-Yokoi, of Wailua Houselots, passed away on Aug. 4, 2021, at the age of 77 in Lihu‘e. She was born on Feb. 13, 1944, and was a retired office worker.
Laverne was preceded in death by parents Shoichi and Kimiko Kodama, husband Ronald Yokoi, brother Ben Kodama and sister Karen Yamamoto.
Laverne is survived by her step-daughters Amber (John) Bird and Miko (Adam) Yokoi, step-grandchildren, numerous relatives, nieces, grand-nieces, nephews and grand-nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 at Garden Island Mortuary on Saturday, Sept. 4. Family requests in lieu of koden (monetary gift), flowers be placed when convenient at her final place of rest at Lihu’e Cemetery. Details will be provided at her visitation on Sept. 4. Due to Covid-19, social distancing and masks are required.

Clifford J. Pimental
Clifford J. Pimental passed away on Aug. 9, 2021, at the age of 69 in Lawa‘i. He was born on July 19, 1952. He was an equipment operator.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Rose Pimental, brothers Roy Pimental and Macky Pimental, father-in-law Adam Orsatelli, mother-in-law Mildred Orsatelli, brother-in-law Jeffrey Orsatelli and sister-in-law Valerie Camara.
Clifford is survived by his wife Deborah Pimental, sons Clifton Pimental and Troy (Hilina‘i) Pimental, daughter Tracy Pimental, 6 grandchildren, brothers Wally (Jerry) Pimental and Joey (Cobina) Pimental, sisters Carol (Tony) Pereira and Laurie Pimental, sister-in-law Linda (Macky) Pimental, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at Garden Island Mortuary on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021. Visitation is at 9 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetary. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks are required.
