Adoracion Ramos Soliva

Adoracion Ramos Soliva, 92, passed away on Jan. 28, 2021, at her home in ‘Ele‘ele. Born on Dec. 22, 1928, in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was employed and retired as a field hand from Northtrup King Corn Seed Company.

Adoracion was preceded in death by her husband Jose Soliva, parents Lorenzo and Victoria Ramos, siblings Merced, Fermin, Melchor, Andres and Alfonso Ramos, son-in-laws and great-grandchild Trixia Soliva.

Adoracion is survived by her children Rolando (Marcelina) Soliva of Kaumakani, Robert (Conita) Soliva of California, Roger (Delia) Soliva of ‘Ele‘ele, Rodolfo (Lorna) Soliva of Kekaha, Virginia Parbo of Kekaha, Reynalda (Antonio) Daligcon of Hanapepe, Remedios Tadije of ‘Ele‘ele, sister Basilia Ramos of the Philippines, brother Arturo Ramos of Philippines and by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her pet.

A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2021, at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai. Viewing is open at 9 a.m. Service to follow at 10 a.m. Burial at Kekaha Public Cemetery.

Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements. COVID-19 precautions will be enforced. Please wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

Ronald Alan Blackstad

Ronald Alan Blackstad, born Feb. 16, 1945, in Koloa, peacefully passed at home on Jan. 29, 2021, at the age of 75. He was retired from Verizon Communications (formerly GTE Hawaiian Tel).

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Loretta T Blackstad, parents Alexander and Agnes Blackstad as well as his sister Aleta Fu.

Ronald is survived by his sons Kevin J. (Adrianne), Kris K. and Kyle R. (Wailana), grandchildren Kira, Kelly, Koby, Kannen, Kahanu, and Wehilani, brothers Michael (Sharon), Payne (Sybil), and Jack (Amy) Blackstad, and sister Alexa (Wayne) Samio, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private service will be held with members of the family. Burial/Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when restrictions have been lifted.

Peter Ibaniez

Peter Ibaniez, 87, of Lihu‘e, passed away at home on Feb. 13, 2021, with his caregiver Eileen Costa Brun by his side.

Private services were held. Ashes were scattered at his favorite site.

Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Clyde Richard Efhan

Clyde Richard Efhan passed away on Jan. 20, 2021, at the age of 64, in Koloa. He was born on Sept. 19, 1956, in Lihu‘e. He was retired.

Clyde was preceded in death by his father Maximo Efhan, mother Trinidad Camaliri Efhan, brothers Vince Efhan and Bolo Efhan.

Clyde is survived by his wife Janell Efhan, son Kevin Efhan of Waimea, daughters Dara Efhan of Phoenix, Arizona, Taryn Rosare of Phoenix, Arizona and Merleigh Motooka of Kapolei, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters Karen Schoner and Natalie “Tootsie” Efhan, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services at Lihue Ward Latter Day Saints on Feb. 27, 2021. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. There will be a service to follow at 11 a.m. Casual attire and flowers welcome. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks required.

Rose Marie Pimental

Rose Marie Pimental passed away on Feb. 13, 2021, at the age of 92 at her residence in Kalaheo.She was born on March 31, 1928, in Lanai City, Lanai. She was a housewife.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Charles Pimental, sons Manuel (Macky) and Roy Pimental, parents John and Mary Arruda, siblings Helen Christiansen, Agnes Shea, Mary Augusto, Ernest Arruda Branco and Manuel Arruda.

Rose is survived by her sons Wally (Jerry) Pimental of Lawai, Clifford (Debbie) Pimental of Lawai, Joseph (Cobina) Pimental of Kalaheo, daughters Laurie Pimental of Kalaheo, Carolyn (Tony) Pereira of Kalaheo, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, brother John Arruda of Molokai, sister Dora Sugai of Kealia, Kauai and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Walk through visitation at Garden Island Mortuary on Feb. 24, 2021, 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. And Order of service will take place at 8:30 a.m. There will be a burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire and flowers welcome. Due to COVID-19, social distancing & masks required.
