David Ko‘omealani Palama Jr.
David Ko‘omealani Palama Jr. passed away peacefully at home in Kahili Mountain, Koloa, on Dec. 12, 2021, at the age of 85. He was born on May 5, 1936 in Makaweli. He was a site contractor and rancher.
He was preceded in death by parents David and Marie Palama Sr., siblings Claire (Buddy) Perreira, Thomas (Patricia) Palama, Roland Palama, Arthur (Lena) Palama, Clarence Palama and Clayton (Barbara) Tremaine, and son Austin Alquiza.
He is survived by wife Moana Kinimaka Palama of Koloa, sons Dana Palama of Kalaheo, Jeffrey Palama of Waikoloa, Hawai‘i Island, daughters Maile Gonsalves of Modesto, California, Lisa (John) Ruiz of Hanapepe, Galeen (Mark) Palama of Keapana, Hawai‘i Island, Leilani (Damien) Alquiza of Commerce, Texas, Kauanoe (Stefan) Ho‘omanawanui of Kahili Mountain, Kahala Ho‘omanawanui of Anahola, brother Stephan (Cathy) Palama of Kalaheo, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joseph Troche Flores
Joseph Troche Flores passed away on Dec. 17, 2021. He was born on May 21, 1939 in Honolulu, and worked as a plumber.
He was preceded in death by parents Edward and Nora Troche, brother Edmund Salas, and sisters Lorraine Merchan, Lucille Lopez and Diana Desilva.
He is survived by wife Priscilla Flores, children Annette Armstrong, Jay Flores, Vince Flores and Joey Flores, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Katherine Claire Dilwith
Katherine Claire Dilwith, 80, of Reno, Nevada, passed away on Oct. 16, 2021. She was born in Kekaha and was a cook.
She was preceded in death by husband James Dilwith Sr., parents Ralph Fernandez and Rose Aperto-Naumu, brothers Eddie Fernandez and Henry Fernandez, and grandson Dolen Dela Cruz Jr.
She is survived by daughters Christine Dela Cruz, Jami Dilwith and Michelle Dilwith, son Dominic Dilwith, 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brothers Melvin Fernandez and Daniel Fernandez, and sisters Bernice Fernandez and Jeanette Pahota.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Jan. 15, at St. Theresa Church, Kekaha. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. followed by service at 10 a.m. Friends are welcome to join the family at Kekaha Beach Park pavilions immediately following the service. The family suggests casual or aloha attire.
Arnold Satoru Fujii
Arnold Satoru Fujii, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Lihu‘e on Jan. 3, 2022. He was born in Kapaia on Nov. 13, 1937, and worked as a teacher at Kapa‘a High School, the sate Department of Educaiton Kaua‘i District Office, and Kaua‘i Community College.
He was preceded in passing by wife Florinda (Yamasato) Fujii, parents Tsutomu and Fusayo Fujii, and sister Stella Fujii.
He is survived by his loving partner, Kimiyo Navarro, children Aric Fujii, Arvin (Masako) Fujii and Ardith (Kenny) Chung, brothers Stephen (Sylvia) Fujii, Roger (Amy) Fujii and Calvin (Pamela) Fujii, three grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services for a celebration of life will be announced in the future.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert Hallman, 61, of Wailua Homesteads, graduated to heaven on Dec. 24, 2021. He pastored at Crossroads Christian Fellowship for 23 years.
He was preceded in death by father Roy Hallman.
He is survived by wife Becky, sons John (Sydney) and Michael, mother Nyle, and sisters Gretchen and Kathy.
Visitation is Saturday, Jan. 8, at Kaua‘i Christian Fellowship in Po‘ipu from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 10:15 a.m.
