Naoko Ogata
Naoko Ogata passed away on June 18, 2022, at the age of 104. She was an elementary teacher and librarian.
She was preceded in death by husband Yoshiharu Ogata.
She is survived by son Jon Ogata (Joanne) of Honolulu, daughter Joy Miyamoto (Lynn) of Waimea, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private service will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden (monetary gifts).
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Margaret “Margie” Chiyoko Kimura Ponce
Margaret “Margie” Chiyoko Kimura Ponce passed away on June 1, 2022, at the age of 90, at Samuel Mahelona Hospital. She was born on June 10, 1931, in Koloa. She was a retail sales clerk at Coco Palms and Ben Franklin stores.
She was preceded in death by father Robert Seichi Kimura, mother Helen Harumi Yoshihara Kimura, sisters Harriet Hatsuyo Hironaka, Lilian Aiko Nishimoto, brother Samuel Kiyoshi Kimura and husband Antonio “Rosco” Ponce.
She is survived by sons Kenneth (Marielle) Ponce, Marvyn “Jojo” (Debbie) Ponce, Anthony “Chabo” (Debbee) Ponce, Davin Ponce, daughter Cynthia Ponce Marugame, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The celebration of life will be private.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
