Jacquelynn K. Lott

Jacquelynn K. Lott, 64, of Kalaheo, passed away on Aug. 16, 2021. She was born in Pasadena, Texas, on July 31, 1957, and was the head coach of the women’s basketball team and a Professor of Kinesiology at Antelope Valley College.

Jacquelynn was preceded in death by her parents Thomas R. Lott and Kathryn Bennett Fox, and brother Michael D. Lott.

Jacquelynn is survived by her sister Addie Lott Delopez, brother Thomas R. Lott, one niece and one nephew.

Kaua’i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bennett John Duarte

Bennett John Duarte, 61, passed away on Sept. 8, 2021.

Bennett was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Laura (Gomes) Duarte, brother Howard Duarte, sisters Phyllis (Duarte) Fiorucci, and Arlene (Duarte) Heiser.

Bennett is survived by his wife Katherine Pupu Kanahele, sons Bennett J. ‘Ioane’ Kanahele-Duarte, David K. Kanahele Duarte, Kekaha, brothers Dennis (Chantal) Duarte, Kekaha, Thomas (Barbie) Duarte, Waimea, Alan (Liza) Duarte, Wailua, sisters Gladys Louise Taylor, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Betty (Michael) Pesce, San Rafael, California.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church in Waimea at 10 a.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation. Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Clarita ‘Nana Claring’ Manzano Lagura

Clarita “Nana Claring” Manzano Lagura passed away on Sept. 1, 2021, at the age of 83. She was born on July 9, 1938, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She was a homemaker.

Clarita was preceded in death by parents Pedro and Basilia Manzano, brother Mariano Manzano and daughter Clariza Lagura.

Clarita is survived by husband German Lagura, daughters Germilin (Augustin) Tacata, Josephine Lagura, Irene Lagura, Wilma (Andrew) Ringor, Joy (Romel) Begonia, Jenny Lagura, sons Jesus Lagura, Gerald (Kiira) Lagura, brother, Marcial Manzano, sisters Maria Lagoc, Herminia Go, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary. Visitation at 10:30 a.m. followed by prayer service at 11 a.m. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, face mask and social distancing required.

Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
