Brenda Lee Castillo-Villareal

Brenda Lee Castillo-Villareal, 65, passed away on Feb. 22, 2023. She was born on Kaua‘i on Sept. 22, 1957, and worked as a laundry attendant at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by husband Manuel Villareal Jr., siblings Marla Castillo-Soliven of Puhi, Adele (Chuck) Fields of Georgia, Larry (Coral) Castillo of Hanapepe and Quintin Castillo of San Francisco, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is Saturday, April 29, at the Villareal residence in Wailua Homesteads, 6159 Olohena Road, starting at 10 a.m., with a luncheon to follow.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

David William Evans Jr.

David William Evans Jr., 64, passed away on March 27, 2023. He was born on Dec. 14, 1958 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps, and was employed as a chef for many years along side his brother John.

He was preceded in passing by parents David and Evangeline Kaleiohi Evans Sr.

He is survived by daughters Kaeli (Jackson Beck) Evans and Emily Evans, brother John (Corina) Evans, sisters Cheryl (Sonny) Naylor, Angie Revilla and Dot (Tialyn Keawe) Evans, mother of his children Erin McElwain, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services were held by the family.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
