Kylan Mark Gandia

Kylan Mark Gandia passed away on June 27, 2022, in Lahaina, Maui, at the age of 33.

He was born on March 3, 1989 in Waimea. He was a tile setter.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Frederick and Emily Viquelia and paternal grandfather Richard Gandia.

He is survived by sons Kaiola Gandia of Koloa and Shylan Gandia, parents Celest (Norman) Tanaka and Marcos (Verna Somalpong) Gandia, brother David (Lea) Hanashiro of Lahaina, Maui, sisters Holly (Kapeli Tam) Gandia of Kaumakani and Kiara Gandia of Kekaha, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A service is at the Garden Island Mortuary on Saturday, July 23, with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m., services from 10 to 11 a.m. and a celebration of life to follow at Lucy Wright Park in Waimea. The family requests aloha attire and welcomes flowers.

Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Flora Garlitos Jacinto

Flora Garlitos Jacinto passed away at home on July 3, 2022, at the age of 93.

She was born on Nov. 24, 1928, in Pangasinan, Philippines, and worked as a guava picker and processor.

She was preceded in death by husband Bartolome U. Jacinto, son Benjamin Jacinto, parents Geronimo and Basilia (Gagelonia) Garlitos, brother Teofilo Garlitos, and sisters Julia Pacanas, Teresa Corpuz and Euprocina Dela Cruz.

She is survived by son Emilio (Lily) Jacinto, daughters Ofelia (Federico) Garcia and Mercedita (Constantino) Tapec and 12 grandchildren.

A service is at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary on Friday, July 29, with family time 8:30 to 9 a.m., viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. and service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kalapaki Bay Memorial Park.
