Barbara M. Goodwin

Barbara M. Goodwin, 87, passed away on Feb. 21, 2023. She was born on Wailuku, Maui, on May 24, 1935, and she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in passing by her loving husband Robert H. Goodwin Sr., children Eugene Kaina, Eulynne Kaina, Mark Kaina, Clara Kukonu, William Goodwin and Robert H. Goodwin Jr.

She is survived by children Darlene Alfonso, Sandra Kaina and Tracy (Tayvian) Goodwin, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be announced in the future.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gerald Masaaki Higashi

Gerald Masaaki Higashi passed away on Feb. 22, 2023, in Kekaha, at the age 66.

He was born on Sept. 9, 1956, in Waimea. He was a carpenter at the U.S Navy Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands.

He was preceded in death by father Mitsuo Higashi, mother Natsue Abe Higashi and brother Greg Namio Higashi.

He is survived by sisters Peggy Kiger of Pukalani, Maui, and Evelyn Higashi of ‘Ele‘ele, and a niece and nephews.

A service is Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Garden Island Mortuary. Visitation is at 10 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m.

The family requests casual attire.

Harvey Lee Saylor

Harvey Lee Saylor, 91, of Medford, Oregon, passed away on Feb. 23, 2023, in Medford, Oregon.

Bruce Kiko Kobayashi

Bruce Kiko Kobayashi passed away on Feb. 28, 2023 at Wilcox Medical Center at the age of 72. He was born on Feb. 19, 1951, in Lihu‘e. He was the owner of Kaua‘i Office Equipment.

He was preceded in death by father Ronald Shizuo Kobayashi, mother Betty Tsuneko Sasaki and sister Cindy Miki Kobayashi.

He is survived by wife Sonya Kobayashi, son David Kobayashi of Lihu‘e and daughter Lisa Kauwale of Honolulu.

A service will be announced at a later date.
