Robert T. Kunioka

Robert T. Kunioka passed away on April 6, 2022, at the age of 91, at his residence. He was born on Jan. 6, 1931, in Koloa. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and a retired Microbiologist for the Department of Health.

He was preceded in death by parents Jiro and Asayo Kunioka, brother Wallace Kunioka, sister Mildred Sugimura and son-in-law Edward Kunioka-Volz.

He is survived by wife Dorothy S. Kunioka, sons Keith (Monica) Kunioka of Kapa‘a and Scott Kunioka of Honolulu, daughters Karen (Randy) Kawate (Randy) of Hilo, Hawai‘i Island and Sheri Kunioka-Volz of Kapa‘a, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, sister Janet Oshima of Oceanside, California, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A service is Saturday, May 28, at Kapa‘a United Church of Christ, with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m.

Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Kimiyo Ebesu

Kimiyo Ebesu, of Kapa‘a, passed away on April 11, 2022, at the age of 90, in Lihu‘e. She was born on April 5, 1932, in Waimea. She was a housewife.

She was preceded in death by husband Charles T. Ebesu and parents Shiro and Jun Yamase.

She is survived by sons Mark (Jane) Ebesu, Dewey (Joan) Ebesu and Randall Ebesu, daughter Jann (Dave) Masaki, seven grandchildren, five brothers and four sisters.

A private service will be held at a later date.
