Corazon Carcueva Hesapene

Corazon Carcueva Hesapene, 88, of Kekaha, passed away peacefully on Nov. 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Mana, Kaua‘i on June 25, 1933, and was a loving homemaker.

Cora was preceded in death by her husband Magua Hesapene, her sons Dean Hesapene, Kenneth Hesapene, her great-granddaughter Kaisa Hesapene Gramberg and her brothers Cilino Carcueva, Ponto Carcueva.

Cora is survived by her children Verna (Mike) Kirsch, Sharon (Byron) Ariola, Marvin (Iris) Hesapene, David (Camille) Hesapene, Audrey (Steve) Franco, daughter-in-law Juno (Dean-deceased), her brother Sofronio (Rose) Carcueva, sister Mabel (Charles deceased) Pacleb, 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kekaha from 10 to 11 a.m. Mass will begin at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Due to COVID-19 social distancing and masks are required.

Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donald Lott

Donald Lott passed away on Nov. 5, 2021, in Kalaheo. He was born on April 27, 1938, in Sumrall Mississippi. He was a retired Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife Laverne Haunani Lott, daughter Vanessa Lee and son Leslie Lott.

He is survived by his sons Donald (Flora) Lott Jr. of Pheonix, Arizona, Joseph (Mary) Lott of Pocatello, Idaho, daughters Bertha Guerra of Kalaheo, Faith Lake of Salt Lake City, Utah, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Frederick Viquelia

Frederick Viquelia passed away on Nov. 4, 2021, at his home in Kaumakani. He was born on March 9, 1937, in Waimea. He was an Army Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wives Emily Viquelia and Loretta Angala, parents Paul and Mary Viquelia, brothers David and Samuel Viquelia and sister Yolanda Ana.

He is survived by his stepmother Shirley Viquelia, sons Greg (Joy) Viquelia of Kekaha, Robin (Mary Jane) Viquelia of Omao, Stacey (Lisa) Viquelia of Lillian, Alabama, Kriss Viquelia of Eugene, Oregon, Alsen “Soonie” Viquelia of Mililani, O‘ahu, daughters Celeste (Norman) Tanaka of Lahaina, Maui, Yolette (Edward) Chavez of Fallon, Nevada, brothers Benjamin (Carol) Viquelia of O‘ahu, Ronald “Blackie” Viquelia of Kaua‘i, sister Pauline (Albert) Batis of O‘ahu, 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services were held.
