Federico F. Astrologio Jr., passed away at Wilcox Hospital on April 25, 2019 at the age of 60. He was born on March 14, 1959, in Vigan Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He was the owner of Astro Sheet Metal. He finished at FEATI University in Manila, Philippines. He worked in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as draftsman for 5 years before moving to Kauai in 1992. Joined the Sheet Metal Industry through Duct-er Sheet Metal in 1993. Taught the sheet metal Apprenticeship Program at KCC. Started his own sheet metal company Astro Sheet Metal in 2015. Member of Sheet Metal Union Local 293.
He is preceded in death by parents Federico and Maria Astrologio; sister Betty Racho; brothers, Rudy Astrologio, Noli Astrologio, Crispin Astrologio.
He is survived by wife Delia (Bumagat) Astrologio; sons, Frederick J. Astrologio of Lihue, Jared M. Astrologio of Lihue; sisters, Florida (Cipriano) Tallano of Lihue, Mel Tapuro of United Arab Emirates, Felina Olegario of Manila, Philippines, Relyn (Ronnie) Vergara of Manila, Philippines; nephew Harold (Lenny) Tallano; father-in-Law Felipe Restituto Bumagat of Lihue; brother-in-Law Henry (Delia) Bumagat of Hanapepe; sister-in-laws, Rozel (Wayne) Ebinger of Kapaa, Joanie Bumagat of Alaska, Marina (Lance) Nojima of Koloa, Aleli (Sammy) Cadiz of California, Ruena Bumagat of Washington; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 14, 15, 2019, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai. Visitation on Friday will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Family request casual attire.

Richard Cummings Kaui Sr. of Keahapana Valley, passed away at the age of 77, on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Pali Momi Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 11, 1941, on Kauai.
He retired as a District Road Overseer (DRO II), stationed at Hanalei Baseyard after 33 years with the County of Kauai Public Works Division.

There will be a burial to follow at the Kaui Family cemetery in Keahapana Valley and a Luau to follow in Keahapana Valley

Cupertino Vibangco Valmoja, 68, of Kapaa, passed away at Straub Clinic and Hospital on May 31, 2019. He was born in San Juan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on Sept. 18, 1950, and retired from Harbors Division as a Maintenance Personal.
Preceded in death by his parents David and Dolores Valmoja; granddaughter Kailee Lynn Valmoja Freitas.

He was preceded in death ny father Cruz Gobrino Araneta; mother Candaladia “Emma” Vera Cruz; brothers, Jose, Mac, Phillip, Ralph and Claudio Hilacion, Albert “Beto” Araneta; sister Eleanor Borilez.
He is survived by son Samuel J. Neil Kalani Sadora passed away on May 18, 2019, in Sacramento, California. He was born on Feb. 18, 1970, in Lihue. Kalani loved to cook and was employed at various eating establishments in Hawaii and California.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Loreto and Maxima Sadorra and maternal grandparents Eusebio and Estephania Afaga.

Yoshiko Higa, 91, of Kilauea, died on June 4, 2019, at Garden Isle Health Care. She was born on Kauai on Sept. 17, 1927, and was a retired babysitter.
Preceded in death by her parents Kamesuke and Ushi Taira; brothers, Shigeru Taira, Isamu Taira, Minoru Taira; sisters, Nobuko Taira, Hanami Kohatsu.
Yoshiko is survived by son Kevin (Udom) Higa of New Mexico; daughter Sherlyn (Irwin) Haraguchi of Kilauea; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother Tsutomu Taira of Georgia; sister Ayako Garcia of Hanamaulu; care giver Ford Sueoka of Kapaa; numerous nieces and nephews.

Alan Gerardo
Alan Gerardo was born on June 15, 1958 in Lihue. He passed away peacefully in his home in Ridgecrest, California, at age 60, on Feb. 2, 2019.
Chief Alan Gerardo served in the United States Navy and also worked for the navy as a civil servant. He retired after 24 years.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Gerardo; sisters Marylyn Gerardo and Kathy Louis.
He is survived by his wife Marites Gerardo; children, Kari Momi (Bryan Rapsholdt) Gerardo, Lori (Zef Perales) Long, Christine (Joven) Haramura, Sophia Dame, Brian Dame; six grandchildren, James, Jordyn, Jaylin, Chimera, Serenity, Jareth; his siblings, Joyce (Terry) Daligdig, James K Gerardo, Alison (Clayton) Silva, Brenda (Rey) Coloma, Brian (Shanell) Gerardo Sr.; brother-in-laws, Mathew Louis Sr., Jerry Aquias; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
