Troy William Martin

Troy William Martin, of ‘Ele‘ele, passed away on May 23, 2021, at his home, at the age of 55.

Born in Reno, Nevada on June 1, 1965, he was president of Martin Steel Constructors, Inc. and a beloved member of his community.

He was preceded in death by mother Marjorie Jean Martin and father Harold Lowell Martin.

He is survived by life partner Malia Kali, son Chance Martin, stepchildren Malisha and Kepa Kali and Brilynn and Bridan Imaoka, brothers Todd and Chris Martin, and numerous family members and friends.

A drive-by celebration of life is Saturday, July 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hanapepe Stadium tennis courts.

Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ervin A. Contrades Sr.

Ervin A. Contrades Sr. passed away on June 19, 2021, at the age of 91. He was born on Jan. 28, 1930, in Lihu‘e, and worked for Amfac Sugar.

He was preceded in death by wife Mercy Contrades, parents Peter and Ruby Contrades, sister Myrtle (Frank) Napoleon, brother Peter Noah Contrades, and sister-in-law Emmaleen Contrades.

He is survived by sons Erv A. Contrades Jr., Clayton C. Contrades and D. Kalei (Wiley Ann) Contrades, hanai son Charlie R. Strunk, daughters Lavana M. (Debra Almeida) Contrades and Sandi L. (Jerry) Costa, brothers Waldemar John (Patsy) Contrades, Daniel Contrades and Joseph (Betty Jane) Contrades, sister Imogene Richards, sister-in-law Anita Contrades of Moloka‘i, grandchildren Malia L. (Kyle) Napoleon, Roy (Brooke Akaji) Costa, Kalani Contrades, Kelsey K. (Linda) Contrades, Kendal (Naomi) Contrades and Kristine (Avaiyak) Burnell, great-grandchildren Kurt A. and Kyler P. Napoleon, Nakoa L. and Nainoa K. Costa, Keani, Angelo, Dominic Contrades, Scot and Kyle Contrades, Kiara, Kylen, Kendra, Avaiyak Jr., Bella and Ahkivgaq Bryce Burnell.

A celebration of life is Saturday, July 10, at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e, with visitation at 9 a.m. and a memorial service at 10 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. The family requests that flowers be omitted.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rosita Tabac
‘Pat’ Ebreo

Rosita Tabac “Pat” Ebreo, 85, of Pa‘auilo, Hawai‘i Island, passed away on May 20, 2021, in Kailua-Kona. She was born in Makawao, Maui, on Feb. 7, 1936. She was a retired bank teller for Bank of Hawai‘i’s Hamakua Branch, member and treasurer for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Pa‘auilo ILWU Pension Club, and a member of the Pa‘auilo Senior Citizens Club.

She was preceded in death by husband Raymond “Butcha” Ebreo, daughter Pamela Ebreo, great-granddaughter Tianee Ebreo and great-grandson Joshua Ebreo.

She is survived by sons Michael (Debra) Ebreo of Honoka‘a, Hawai‘i Island, James (Paula) Ebreo of Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i Island, Raymond “Kalani” (Macaria Suguitan) Ebreo of Herriman, Utah and Brandon (Rachael) Bumanlug of Waimea, Hawai‘i Island, daughter Raynette (Clifford) Akana of Kekaha, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brother Amador Tabac of Pa‘auhau, Hawai‘i Island, sisters Beatrice Tabac of Waimea, Hawai‘i Island, Marina (Nelson) Silva of Hanamau‘ulu, brothers-in-law Francis DeCosta of Waimea, Earl (Amy) Regidor of Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i Island, sisters-in-law Demetria Tabac of Honoka‘a, Hawai‘i Island, Sally Tabac of Honolulu, Harriet Tabac of Pa‘auilo, Hawai‘i Island, Annie Kalahiki of Honolulu, Ilima (Scott) Fujimoto of Honoka‘a, Hawai‘i Island, Stella Regidor of Honolulu and Reba Regidor of Ka‘u, Hawai‘i Island, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honoka‘a, Hawai‘i Island, with Mass to follow. Due to COVID-19, church seating is limited, and masks and social distancing are required.

Cremation Services of West Hawai‘i is assisting the family with arrangements.
