Isabel Belardo Adviento

Isabel Belardo Adviento, 97, of Hanama‘ulu, passed away on May 13, 2020, at Garden Isle Health Care & Rehabilitation. She was born in Santa, Illocos Sur, Philippines on June 18, 1922, and retired from Wilcox Memorial Hospital as a dietary cook.

She was preceded in death by husband Placencio “Pacing” Adviento, son Christito Adviento, parents Bonifacio and Carlota Belardo, brothers Patricio, Rafael, Dominador and Francisco Belardo, and sisters Bibiana Barnachea, Marcela Albior, Marciana Albior and Enriquita Ramos.

She is survived by son John (Mary) Adviento, grandsons Keoni (Amber) Adviento and Keoki Adviento, great-grandchild Sanoe, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private burial services were held at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Narcisa Jimenez Valle

Narcisa Jimenez Valle passed away on April 16, 2020, in Lihu‘e, at the age of 85. She was born on Oct. 31, 1934, in the Philippines. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by husband Fortunato Valle, daughter Teresa Valle, parents Raymondo and Manuela Jimenez, and sister Paulina Negrillo of the Philippines.

She is survived by sons Raymond Valle of Kapa‘a and Fortunato Valle Jr. of Hanama‘ulu, daughters Floredliza (John) Kamoku of Washington, Florentina “Flor” Valle of California and Lobevena “Ludi” Valle of Kaua‘i, sister Cornelia Jimenez of London, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Garden Island Mortuary on Saturday, May 30. The family suggests casual attire and welcomes flowers. Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Masao ‘Murphy’ Yamamoto

Masao “Murphy” Yamamoto, 85, of Lihu‘e, passed away on May 5, 2020, in a private care home in Kapa‘a. He was born in Koloa on Sept. 21, 1934, and retired as an accountant for the County of Kaua‘i Department of Water. He was a member of Koloa Lions Club for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by parents Sakujiu and Machi Yamamoto, brothers Rikito, Mituso and Yoshio Yamamoto, sisters Satsue Ono and Fumie Oda, and nephew John Yamamoto.

He is survived by wife Joan Hayashi Yamamoto of Hanama‘ulu, daughter Lynn Labasan (Ricky-deceased) of Portland, Oregon, son Wade (Carol) Yamamoto of Las Vegas, sister, Masako Yamada of O‘ahu, and grandchildren, Stephanie (Jay) Brink and Rachel Labasan.

Private services were held.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
