Marcelina ‘Marcie’ Tabalno Bumacod

Marcelina “Marcie” Tabalno Bumacod, 84, of Lihu‘e, passed away at home on Nov. 20, 2020. She was born on Nov. 2, 1936, in Alaminas, Pangasinan, Philippines, and retired from McBryde Sugar Company as a field worker.

She was preceded in death by husband Ramon Bumacod Sr., parents Segundo and Januaria Tabalno, daughter Rosita Dela Cruz, and siblings Roman Tabalno, Ana Pascua, Henry Tabalno and Donnie Arellano.

She is survived by children Rebecca Garcia of California, Stella (Art) Fujita of Lihu‘e, Rita Barriga of Lihu‘e, Marilyn Barriga of California, Nelie Ann Boback of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ramon Bumacod Jr. of California and Alan Ray Bumacod of Nevada, 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, brothers Ismael (Sviatlana) Tabalno and Vincent (Ping Lang) Tabalno, sister Maria Baltazar, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, with viewing from 8 to 9: 30 a.m. A Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens. Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing are required.

Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

John Pundyke Jr.

John Pundyke Jr., 89, of Kapa‘a, passed away at Garden Isle Health Care & Rehabilitation on Oct. 30, 2020. He was born in Lihu‘e on April 13, 1931, and retired from the state of Hawai‘i.

He was preceded in death by sons Darrell Pundyke and John Pundyke.

He is survived by children Darlene (Howard) Ramos, Brenda Vidinha, Bradley Pundyke, Tammy (Sterling) O‘ana, daughter-in-law Penlois “Penny” Pundyke, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private burial was held at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Gregorio Sadora

Gregorio Sadora, 90, of Wailua Homesteads, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 3, 2020. He was born on Dec. 9, 1929 in Kahuku, O‘ahu.

He was preceded in death by son N. Kalani Sadora, brother-in-law Bill Ancheta, parents Loreto and Maxima Sadorra and in-laws Eusebio and Estefania Afaga.

He is survived by wife Goni Sadora, children Cheryl (Glenn) Belisle, Gregory (Nani) Sadora and Stephanie (Stacy) Iwasaki, grandchildren Shaunte Sadora, Shyanne Sadora, Kai‘ea Iwasaki, Kanoa Iwasaki, Keala Iwasaki and Skyler Sadora, sisters Connie Ancheta and Becky (Roger) Ancheta, brother Herman (Virgie) Sadorra, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He enjoyed working and retired from Wilcox Memorial Hospital and Coco Palms after 40+ years. If he was not working on his many projects at home or traveling the world with his wife and family, he was cheering on his grandchildren on the football field, baseball diamond, soccer field or volleyball court. He lived life to the fullest, with no regrets.

A contact-free service at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens is Saturday, Nov. 28, with viewing from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Mass is at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. A blessing will be held at 1 p.m. at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe, with burial to follow. Masks and social distancing are required.
