Katherine W. DeSilva Louis
Katherine W. DeSilva Louis, 79, of Kapa‘a, passed away at home on Nov. 1, 2020. She was born in Lihu‘e on May 12, 1941, and retired as a cafeteria worker at Kapa‘a School.
She was preceded in death by husband Albert Louis Jr., sister Janet Jim and brother Russell DeSilva.
She is survived by daughters Cheryl (Billy Ruman) Louis and Jocelyn (Daniel Barretto) Louis, grandchildren Tasha (Keane) Agoot, Tanya (Brandan Rapozo) Gordon, Kailee (Christian Tanicala) Kelekoma and Kristi (Bryson Cummings) Gordon, great-grandchildren Koen Agoot, Amari Agoot, Lilinoe Na‘ea, Ryden Rapozo, Naia Gordon and Aria Cummings, brothers Wayne DeSilva, Dennis DeSilva and Macky DeSilva, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Private family services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, on the family estate.

Evelyn Y. Olores
Evelyn Y. Olores passed away on Oct. 27, 2020 at the age of 82, in Kekaha. She was born on Nov. 4, 1937.
She was a neighborhood center director with the County of Kaua‘i.
She was preceded in death by son Dana V. Olores, brothers William Yadao, Stanley Yadao and Stanwick Yadao, and sisters Becky Doronio, Agnes Mahinai and Nene Hislop.
She is survived by husband Valeriano Olores, sons Jonathan (Linda) Olores of Kekaha, Marvin (Sweety) Olores of Kekaha, Jason (Bobbie Bryant) Olores of Kekaha and Gordon (Lee Ann) Olores of Kalaheo, daughters Valerie K. (Manual) Santiago of Kekaha, Janet K. (Harold) Bradford of Lihu‘e and Evelyn K. (Tom) Riley of Duluth, Minnesota, grandchildren Helen Santiago, Charles Wilson, Anthony Wilson, Dion Olores, Wolfgang Lechner, Pacifica Olores, Candace Delos Reyes-Olores, Evelyn Gayagas, Jonalyn Delos Reyes-Olores, Marvin Olores, Micah Olores, Michael Olores, Naveen Olores, Makani Rapozo and Shyanne Sage-Olores, great-grandchildren Niry, Kalaninui, Lona, Palikapu, Mahina, Waipuna, Aukai, Skye, Jacob, Raidon, Maka, Lana, Maemae, AJ, Legend, Minoaka, Charlotte, Pononui, Marley, Zaire, Kawelo and Mattea Topp, great-great-grandchildren Kaimalino Young and Hunter Ray Young, brothers Wesley (Karen) Yadao of Waimea, sisters Bernice (Teofilo) Ragragola of Kekaha and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Due to COVID-19, services will be held at a later date.

Andrew Lubao Michels
Andrew Lubao Michels, 21, of Lihu‘e, passed away on Oct. 24, 2020. He was born in Lihu‘e on Dec. 22, 1998, and was a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Sol Lubao, paternal grandparents and hanai grandmother Betty Anne Bernabe.
He is survived by parents Wolfgang Williams Michels Sr. and Marites Michels, hanai mom Lisa Marie Bernabe, brother Wolfgang Lubao Michels Jr., sister Analorie Michels, maternal grandmother Leticia Lubao, hanai grandfather Antonio Bernabe, numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and his loving pets.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Nov. 7, at Immaculate Conception Church, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. The family requests flowers be omitted.

Steve Takashi Nishimura
Steve Takashi Nishimura passed away on Oct. 23, 2020, at the age of 71, at Regency at Puakea in Puhi. He was born on Oct. 5, 1949 in Lahaina, Maui. He was an Army and Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by father Koichi Nishimura, mother Gladys Fumiko Ueno Nishimura and sister Edith Ven Hein.
He is survived by brother Duane (Joy) Nishimura of Wai‘anae.
Services and burial will be at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

William Texeira Jr.
William Texeira Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Sept. 25, 2020, at his home in Anchorage, Alaska. He was 86. His bride of 60 years, Lahapa, was by his side until the end.
He graduated from Kapa‘a High School in 1953. Upon graduation, he served in the U.S. Army and National Guard. He was employed by a variety of companies in Hawai‘i and retired from Kaua‘i Sugar Storage. He moved to Barrow, Alaska, in 1995, and worked for the North Slope Borough until his second retirement in 2010.
His greatest pleasure came from his family. He shared nine children with Lahapa and could always be found surrounded by them, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. They brought smiles to his face and his eyes lit up when they were around. He was a true family patriarch.
He was preceded in death by parents William Texeira Sr. and Angeline Chandler.
He is survived by wife Miriam “Lahapa” Alapa‘i Texeira and children William “Pake Boy” (Stacy Ann) III, Wiley Ann (Kalei) Contrades, Noe (Mark Adams) Texeira, Wilbert (Ethel) Kunani, Kimo (Michelle Jacintho), Malia (Barrow Brower) Texeira, Kathi (Derek Ahgeak) Texeira, Kimo (Christi) Jr. and Kalen Texeira.
He was a beloved brother to Anthony (Toby), Michael (Bonnie), Angelina “Honey” (Lynn Turner), Steven, Rosalina “Sweetie” (Patrick) Lopez, David (Norma), Aloysius (Leslee) and Chanel (Mario) Catbagan.
Funeral services are Saturday, Nov. 7 at St. Catherine Church, 5021 Kawaihau Rd., Kapa‘, with visitation from 8 to 10 a.m., eulogy from 10 to 11 a.m. and Mass to follow.
