Magdalena ‘Dolly’ Tango Mayo
Magdalena “Dolly” Tango Mayo passed away on July 29, 2019, at the age of 82, on Oahu. She was born on March 19, 1937 in Waimea, and raised in Mana.
She was preceded in death by mother Hertrudes C. Tango and father Placido R. Tango, and husbands Gordon K. Furtado Sr., David K. Furtado and James Mayo.
She is survived by sisters Felisa (Lawrence Sr. — deceased) Natividad and Victoria (Herbert) Banua and brother Antone (Irene) Tango, children Darlene (Warren) Haney, Gordon (Verna) Furtado Jr. (deceased), Eddie (Phyllis) Furtado, James Furtado (deceased), Harrison (Cheryl) Furtado, Owen (Merna) Tango, Ronnett (Lindsey) Schmitt (deceased), Paul (Carol) Furtado, David “Sam” (Patricia) Furtado (deceased), and Pi‘ilani (Brian) Taira, stepchildren Aaron (Kay) Mayo and Angela Mayo, 34 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services to be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Waimea. Visitation is at 9 a.m. and services begin at 11 a.m. Following the services, she will be laid to rest next to her parents at the Kekaha Public Cemetery. The family suggests casual attire.
