Richard John Machell
Richard John Machell, 85, of Kapa‘a, passed away at his home on June 30, 2022. He was born on July 18, 1936, in Middletown, Connecticut. He had a long and respected career working in social services and was a staunch advocate for adults with disabilities.
He was preceded in death by parents Augusta and John Machell.
He is survived by wife Irene Machell, stepsons Parish Alan (Sharon) Ubongen of Washington, Karl Nicholas (Florinda) Ubongen of Lawa‘i and Jason Lee Ubongen of Kapa‘a.
A private scattering of ashes will be held later.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
